CHURCH
TIME LINE OF EVENTS
New Vision was formerly Word of Life
Deliverance Ministry birthed in 1987. We incorporated and established it
in 1993. It was not until 1996 that we were released into the ministry.
Ron and Dedra started the ministry in the basement of their home and
continued there for two years. From there the ministry moved to a
trailer and after that, service was held in our apartment. We moved from
Greenville, SC to Duncan, SC and leased a building for four years. Then
the ministry moved from Duncan, SC to Fountain Inn, SC, and had service
in Ron and Dedra’s home. From there we had service in a motel and with
local ministries.
During that time Pastor Phillips was contemplating merging. After
consulting and sharing with a few pastors he learned that no one wanted
to relinquish their ministry and become one. Shortly after that, we
shared a church building with a ministry in Simpsonville, SC for one
year with the intention of buying. That did not go through, so in 2003
the ministry leased a building for three years. In 2006 we moved back to
a motel.
We are currently holding service in a church building that is one hundred
years old. Praise The Lord! The ministry is still in tact. That building
is located in the Sanctified Hill Community in Fountain Inn, SC. We
learned how to transition from one place to another without losing a
member; each move brought numerical growth and increased our faith to
follow the cloud of the Holy Spirit. None of the moves were forced by
eviction or disagreement. There were circumstances beyond our control
and it was just time to go.
Praise the Lord! After ten years of ministry, God has spoken to the heart
of Apostle Phillips and instructed him to purchase land and build. There
were many who started out with him but they are no longer pasturing;
it’s not how you start and how fast a ministry grows. God has given him
the task of reforming saints with an apostolic mindset. The race is
given to those who endure unto the end.
